cover photo

Taken from the Author's original introduction:

Some unique glimpses of Earth Moving equipment which fed and and fought for us in World War II. "There are just two ways of doing a job", said an Instructor on a bulldozer. "There is your way and the Army way. Remember you are in the Army now, you are - Muck Shifting for King George!"

The book deals with some of the history of the use of dozers and excavators in World War II, including the development and testing of construction equipment particularly the Trailbreaker Centaur and Crusader chassis, as well as other experimental mechanical equipment.
