Wincheap Memories A Pictorial history of a corner of Canterbury, was $24.20 discounted

This superb collection of more than 300 pictures forms a fascinating record of work, sport and entertainment at George Felix Finn and Robert Brett & Sons' premises in Wincheap Street, Canterbury.

The story begins in 1883, with the opening of Mr Finn's County Athletic Grounds and Thanington Engineering Works, and ends in March 1996, when the firm that Robert Brett founded in Finn's old workshops and engine yard some 90 years previously, moved its headquarters from Wincheap to Milton Mannor Farm.

Steam Traction engines and wagons, motor lorries of yesterday and today, engineering excellence, archery, athletics, balloon and helicopter flights, bat and trap, carnivals, circuses, cricket, cycle racing, darts, family fun days, fairs, fencing, fetes, military tournaments, pool, rifle shooting, soccer outings, the origins of Canterbury Football Club ... these are just some of the sights, events and achievements depicted in this nostalgic and evocative book.
