The Amazing Story of Excavators Volume 1: Makers of Machines that Reshape the World

No Longer Available

The Amazing Story of Excavators is the sixth book in KHL's Classic Construction Series, which includes 500 Years of Earthmoving, The History of Cranes and The Top Ten Construction Achievements of the 20th Century.

This encyclopedic industrial history aims to produce the definitive work on excavator manufacture and models. The book has taken over five years collating the information needed for this new work that involved researching every existing excavator manufacture today. The first volume has nearly 900 entries covering all known manufacturers, past and present, with descriptive text and photographs. Amply illustrated with hundreds of photographs, this book will become invaluable to anyone involved with or interested in mobile machines and the construction, civil engineering, quarrying and surface mining industries.

The author, Peter Grimshaw (BSc, MSc, FRGS, FGS) is widely known as the father of construction equipment history. His inspired book, Excavators, was published in 1985 and was the first widely read book on this topic in modern times. A vast number of published works that are available today emanated from the success of the book.
